2019 Presentation Schedule

Dept. of Environmental Services: 10:00 - 10:50

NH’s Shoreland Protection Act: What’s the Law? What You Can Do. The NH Shoreland Water Quality Protection Act seeks to protect the shorelands and the water quality of the Souhegan River.  Jay will cover a brief history of the law, the permitting process and discuss what property owners can do to better protect this important natural resource. Jay Aube, Land Resources Management, NHDES Wetlands Bureau

Citizen’s Climate Lobby: 11:00 - 11:50

Get Paid to Save the Planet! The biggest driver of climate change is fossil fuels. A good solution needs to drive large-scale change quickly, have incentives, and be good for both the planet and the economy.  Proposed Federal legislation asks carbon producers to pay a fee which would be returned to citizens. Come hear about the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act (HR 763) and what you can do to help get this legislation passed.

Marybeth Raven, CCL liaison to Senator Shaheen

Conservation Commission Round Table: 11:00 - 1:00

Join Barbara Richter, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Association for Conservation Commissions (NHACC), for a roundtable discussion with the region's Conservation Commissions.  We will highlight best practices and explore how to overcome obstacles that get in the way of doing good work.  We invite you to share your conservation commission's success with land management, conservation plans, and developing priorities to achieve your goals.  We plan to discuss ways to create partnerships and work toward common goals in the Souhegan Valley. Public is welcome!

Naturopathic Medicine: 12:00 - 12:50

What is Naturopathic Medicine and how it can help you and your family?

Dr. Deborah Bonfanti, ND, NH Association of Naturopathic Doctors

Law-Makers Panel: 1:00 - 2:20

Talk with your NH State Legislators (see below) about the bills and topics before lawmakers. Hear how they view conservation, energy and wildlife issues in the state. State Representatives from both sides of the aisle and all sides of the issues, join our audience in spirited and respectful public dialogue on the topics that impact us today and into the future.

Solarizing our Civic Infrastructure - How to Play Your Part: 2:30 - 3:20
